DataBasics distributes SeeFile4

In a Press release today, DataBasics has announced the partnering with Seefile to distribute the SeeFile4 software in Australia, New Zealand and the SE Asian region.

SeeFile4 is webserver software for online image collaboration and sharing that is accessed from Web browsers on PCs and Macs - but in the same way you access your local file server.

The main advantage of SeeFile is that it updates continuously from your file system, without requiring uploads at your end. SeeFile4 lets you make specified areas visible to one or more colleagues, each with their own login, enabling the easy capture, save, upload and download of digital images - as well as providing previews and proofs, approvals and lightboxes. All without the need for cumbersome file transfers or large email attachments!

New abmst v4 released for Mac OS 10.5

UGSoft has released version 4 of the free-of-charge abmst security tool - A Bit More Secure Terminal.

This verson is compatible with Mac OS X Leopard, Tiger and Panther and prevents unintended execution of Terminal documents, eg viruses, masked as normal documents that want to execute terminal sessions. The download is available at http://www.ugsoft.de/intl on the UGSoft website.

ES-Backup 4 released

This new version from UGSoft offers a lot of powerful features, e.g. backup verification, backup of Time Machine volumes, assistants guiding through backup and restore tasks, analysation charts to compare and choose most suitable backup strategies, tape library status window for display of slots with barcode and firmware information and for moving tapes between drives and slots via Drag&Drop, etc.

HELIOS - What's New in UB+ online

Technical Hints and Tips - Cumulus

1. Quick Search: Cumulus users may not be aware that there are shortcuts for Quicksearch that enable you to search for specific phrases using Boolean search techniques (and/or/not).

For example - entering VEHICLES && BIKES will find asset records with both 'vehicles' AND 'bikes'. To find a particular phrase like AUSTRALIA DAY - just enclose it in quotes like you would in Google... "Australia Day"!

2. Web Publisher Pro 7 users will find that the web view of Cumulus now offers the same display as the native Cumulus client view for rows and columns of records - that is, the page adjusts according to the size of the thumbnail. In the older web Publisher Pro 3, the web view shows only fixed columns of 4x2. Upgrade now!
