SeeFile software - for online image collaboration and sharing - a collaborative tool for the easy capture, save, upload and download of digital images.

SeeFile is webserver software that is accessed from Web browsers on PCs and Macs - but in the same way you access your local file server. It can either be run locally on an OSX system at your site, or on a hosted system at a remote site.

The main advantage of SeeFile is that it updates continuously from your file system, without requiring uploads at your end. SeeFile lets you make specified areas visible to one or more colleagues, each with their own login. The main method of accessing SeeFile is a fixed IP location or URL, which can be linked to your main website wherever it is located.

SeeFile is hosted on any Mac running OSX 10.4.3 or higher, and can be accessed from any standard web browser, no client software needed. It uses standard technology tools including Apache, PHP scripting and SQL databases. Most importantly, however, SeeFile makes this technology transparent so you can be productive immediately.

• Uploads and Downloads: a simple, graphical way to upload and download files from any Mac or PC web browser. Unlike FTP, everyone can use it without a special program or technical knowledge. Unlike email attachments, there are no delays in transmitting the files, and no limitations on size.
• Previews and Proofs: automatically makes two levels of preview for each file uploaded or saved to your server - a thumbnail view for quick comparison, and a larger preview that can be used as an online proof.
• Approvals: SeeFile has a unique Messaging tool which is a simple way for you and your clients to handle sign-offs or other project-related feedback, with the images and PDFs of the job directly on screen.
• Lightboxes: users can copy files to 5 pre-set lightboxes (you can add more) and with your permission can also enable guest users.
• Private folders and Branding: control which folders customers can see. A typical setup would be one main folder per customer, with subfolders based on individual jobs. For larger clients, you can set up different levels of access. Specific folders/pages may be branded with their own corporate identity for employees, contractors and/or clients by setting up different logos and permissions for different users.
