Cumulus and Extended Permissions blog
Extended Permissions is a Cumulus add-on module that offers real-time permissions based on the business rules that you set. The permissions can change based on circumstances such as workflow approval processes, embargo and expiry dates, and other factors. It allows for the actual assets to have a permissions aspect that will determine how people can interact with the content.
We’ve just written a new blog that details the advantages of Extended Permissions – live filtering, setting individual record / category permissions, and setting permissions to edit field values of assets.
Don’t forget the 50% discount till Dec 2016!: Canto is offering 50% discount on their Extended Permissions add-on making it affordable for any Cumulus customer who needs more granular control over permissions and rights management.
Current pricing = $10,200 exGST. New price = $5,100 extGST. Contact us to discuss your needs…

Canto Flight-AUS release - webinar recording available
If you missed last month’s webinar on the latest release of Flight – called their Flight-AUS release – you can view the recording online in our YouTube channel.
Flight-AUS was a significant release as its focus was on digital rights management – embedded watermarks, copyright controls and ability to attach your organisation’s Terms & Conditions to assets. It also added asset editing and conversion prior to download capabilities, as well as little touches like the ability to set a time zone and have the screen auto-refresh after upload.
Ricky Patten showed webinar attendees the new capabilities and you can watch the recording or read about them in our blog What’s New in Flight AUS?
HINTS n TIPS: What are Cumulus Portals?
Yet another blog post – this time to examine the new web interface for public access released with Cumulus 10.1 – Portals. The new Portals interface creates a fresh, simplified, modern and intuitive way for general users to explore your digital assets.
Portals looks great, but the features also create an overall faster and more efficient experience.
• Large previews are available and multipage previews are supported. You can add the file to the basket or to a collection or download it directly from its preview.
• Because Portals has been created using CSS and HTML5 it can be adapted to reflect your brand, whether it be logos and text or the whole feel of the interface – it is all possible. And its responsive design makes it usable on all devices.
• Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) has been fully integrated with Portals, making it possible for your Portal content to be searchable and visible through everyday search engines.
• Portals integrates easily with third party applications through the enhanced RESTful API.
You can get all the info and screenshots in the blog.
